David Steinberger (MBA ‘07) is CEO of comiXology, a cloud-based digital distribution platform for comics. He founded the company while at Stern where he won the Entrepreneurs Challenge. When comiXology rocketed to be a top grosser on the App Store, it caught Amazon’s attention and was acquired in 2014.
Janelle Benjamin (BS ‘01) is a serial entrepreneur and investor. She is one of the few Black female entrepreneurs to raise over $1 million in funding and successfully exit. She co-founded SuperData Research which was acquired by Nielsen in 2018.
While at Stern, Vikram Bhaskaran (MBA ‘09) co-founded Tote, a digital catalog app, and placed second in the 2009 Entrepreneurs Challenge. Among other features, Tote allowed users to save or pin items they liked. The team spun-off this popular tool and ultimately became Pinterest.

Founded by Minh Tran and Casey Bloomquist, current Entrepreneurs Challenge venture Heliotrope is the New York City Metro Regional Winner in the EnergyTech University Prize from the U.S. Department of Energy.

Heliotrope now moves on to compete in the next phase of the competition where they will refine their market analysis and business opportunity before competing at a national pitch event.

The Princeton Review has released results of its Top Graduate Schools for Entrepreneurship 2023 ranking. This year, NYU Stern received the #3 spot on the Northeast graduate list and was ranked #11 overall.
