3-2-1...Ready to Launch!

The Entrepreneurs Challenge, hosted annually by the Berkley Center for Entrepreneurship, is a springboard for promising NYU startups. Part-accelerator and part venture competition, this intense program will provide your early-stage team with how-to workshops, hands-on boot camps, 1:1 coaching, and access to prototyping funds—all designed to guide you step-by-step through launching and growing your startup.

The New Venture Competition provides a forum for startups tackling significant and growing market opportunities through creative models and approaches. The NVC is industry agnostic and encompasses both commercial and for-profit social impact ventures.

The Tech Venture Competition welcomes teams working on concepts with a unique technology at its core. These tech-centric ventures are not simply delivering value by deploying existing technology but are creating new technologies to address emerging needs.

The Healthcare and Biomedical Venture Competition seeks to provide a path to commercialization for scientists and researchers developing solutions to critical health-related challenges.

The NYU Entrepreneurs Challenge is made possible by the generous support of the Rennert Family Foundation, Mr. Ira Rennert (MBA ’56), and Mr. Ari Rennert (BS ’01). Teams will compete for the Rennert Family New Venture, Technology Venture, or Healthcare and Biomedical Venture prize. Each prize is awarded as seed funding in the form of a KISS agreement. The total prize amount for each track is $75,000.

The online application will open on September 30. The first step in the application process is to complete an Eligibility Quiz, which will help you determine if your team and venture meet our eligibility requirements.

Teams deemed eligible will be granted immediate access to the application forms and materials. Teams receiving a determination of "not eligible" may submit requests for appeal.

The application includes the following components:

  • Venture information
  • Individual application fees for all team members
  • A written deliverable, called the Concept Summary
  • Supplementary images and video to support your Concept Summary (optional)
  • Eligibility Statement, signed by every team member

Completed applications will be due no later than November 3, 2021 @ 11:59 PM ET.

All ventures that have submitted completed applications by the stated deadline will receive a decision by November 24, 2021.
