Arash is CEO and co-founder of emcee. Arash started his career after high school when he joined the United States Marine Corps (USMC) as an intelligence analyst. He spent five years learning two new languages, applying data science to illuminate networks of bad actors, and employing technology to find and track high value individuals in Afghanistan. Since then, he worked at two leading banks on Wall Street as a derivatives algorithmic trader and developed a background in software programming and development. He left his day job in the summer of 2016 to pursue fintech entrepreneurship full-time while he finished his MBA at NYU Stern. He is passionate about applying the finance, technology, and data science skills he accumulated over the past ten years to entrepreneurship. Arash is a graduate of Middlebury College, Columbia University, and NYU Stern.
Ryan is CTO and co-founder of emcee. Prior to emcee, he led engineering teams as a consultant in the manufacturing industry. His skills are developing algorithms, designing software, data science, and mathematical modeling. She is highly skilled at strategic problem-solving and has also worked on entrepreneurial projects ranging from creating a popular comedy blog to managing a nonprofit junior board, where she led the team that increased revenue 100x in just two years through a series of unique partnerships and business development opportunities. Divya hails from Phoenix, Arizona; after graduating from Cornell University with honors, she headed to New York City to study law at Fordham University. She graduated from the NYU Stern School of Business in May 2018, where she is earning her MBA with concentrations in strategy and marketing.
Alec Sergeyev has 20 years of experience in running operations and technology initiatives of varying scale up to $200MM. He has background in software development and multiple stages of startup businesses. Alec holds Master’s in Computer Science and EMBA from NYU. (He also loves wines and is a thoughtful consumer). Alec is therefore prepared to setup and run operations of the business, manage design and development of the educational platform and continuously work on business strategy.
Will attended Washington University in St. Louis where he was captain of the football team. He has five publications in orthopedic journals, and has expertise in conducting research trials. He currently attends NYU, where is pursuing his MD/MBA dual degree.
Mary has more than 20 years of experience in the wine industry including all steps of the global wine supply chain, identifying and marketing to specific target consumer groups, and establishing relationships with suppliers and distributors. She received her MBA in 2017 through the Executive MBA Program at NYU Stern. Through her startup Mary Taylor Wines, she is actively working with suppliers and identifying wines, as well as establishing and maintaining existing relationships with clients while also working in various markets as a brand manager.
Emily is co-founder and CMO of Grocer8. Her expertise is in digital marketing and audience development. She is a social media manager on the USA Network Brand Marketing team at NBCUniversal. She previously spent time on USA’s integrated, on-air and digital content teams, and is an expert in collaborating with new and emerging technology partners, identifying first-to-market opportunities, and providing best-in-class strategic recommendations for both consumers and advertisers. Prior to joining NBCU, Emily worked for Ars Nova Entertainment, a production company specializing in multiplatform programming for film, television, web and live entertainment. Emily is originally from Pennsylvania and received her BA from Barnard College of Columbia University in 2011. She is graduating from NYU’s Stern School of Business in May 2018, where she is earning her MBA with concentrations in management and entertainment, media and technology.
