NYU Startup, Esusu, Officially Becomes a Unicorn!
Esusu, a fintech platform founded by NYU alumni Abbey Wemimo (MPA ’16) and Samir Goel (BS ’16), is officially a unicorn. The company raised a $130M Series B round, giving them a $1B valuation and making them one of the very few black-owned unicorns in the U.S. and globally. Abbey was a 2016 Entrepreneurs Challenge finalist when he competed with a prior idea.
